The Traveler

The Traveler

Here's a piece that I made a long time ago. It's one of the earlier works that I had dubbed the name "moosh". The basic idea was to moosh a bunch of images together and use blending layers in photoshop as well as other effects to get an image that has color distortions, and fun compositions.

I found that I love the disorientation I feel when I look at these images. The glitched out highlights and shadows hold me on a balance beam where one side I feel like puking, and the other I feel like dancing.

This image utilizes the eight of cups from the Ryder Waite Tarot deck. I used it because it resonates with me and parts of my life. Being transparent - I struggle with anxiety, depression, and attention - you know, the works. The eight of cups is said to be a card about moving on from hard times. So I kind of see it as my effort to travel the landscape of mental health. It's hills and valleys and near-endless pursuit.

Thanks for reading if you've made it this far. Make sure to drink some water, nourish your body, and keep on working on your mental health.

Winter is coming.
